Sometimes you just have to tout the amazing place where you live.  And where you hope everyone will visit.  That’s how we came up with this post. Santa Fe. It’s the place where you can indulge every whim, whether it’s spending Christmas Eve wandering Canyon Road galleries, amidst farolitos and little bonfires while a light snow dusts adobe walls, or dancing to local musicians on the Plaza on a summer evening.  It’s Saturday morning strolling the popular Farmer’s Market at the Santa Fe Railyard, picking through heirloom tomatoes and freshly roasted green chile. It’s outdoor fun – hitting the slopes  [ Read More ]

la conquistadora arriving at Rosario

Every month in the calendar is a good month to visit Santa Fe, but September is one of the best.  There’s the slightest fall chill in the air every morning (in fact, I can feel that crispness right now), the heat of summer is starting to fade, you can catch the scent of green chile roasting on every corner, and Santa Fe puts on her fanciest clothes and steps out to celebrate Fiesta.  If you read our last post, you know that Fiesta de Santa Fe is a 300 year-old celebration honoring La Conquistadora for helping Don Diego de Vargas  [ Read More ]

At Two Casitas, we know you’re first drawn to Santa Fe by the city’s celebrated sites and landmarks, by the photos in guidebooks, and by the stories your friends tell when they return from a visit here.  We know Santa Fe is considered one of the ultimate destinations by travelers, and we’re very happy with that distinction.  But beyond all that, beyond the Plaza and the Opera and the Cathedral and Canyon Road, what we’re all about at Two Casitas is helping you feel like a local during your visit.  We truly believe the best way to experience Santa Fe is not  [ Read More ]

La Casa Sena – Historic AND Delicious Santa Fe

For me, Santa Fe’s vibrant history has always been one of the best reasons to visit.  It’s no secret that you don’t have to spend an afternoon in a Santa Fe museum (although those are amazing) to get a glimpse of how life was in the city hundreds of years ago.  One of the best examples of Santa Fe’s rich history is La Casa Sena. And then there’s the food.  I’m here to tell you that the vegetarian lasagna is to die for. But I’m always talking about food.  What I really wanted to share is the history of the  [ Read More ]
