SUMMARY
El Torreón is a large comfortable hacienda perfect for retreats and quiet getaways. This home is a stunning example of traditional Pueblo Revival (aka Santa Fe) style, including high ceilings, vigas (wood beams), latias (round or split cedar ceilings), carved corbels, arched doorways, saltillo tile, kiva fireplaces, and signature massive walls making it warm in winter and cool in summer. El Torreon also features an enclosed courtyard with a fountain and fruit trees. It’s very private, yet only five minutes to some of the most popular area restaurants: El Nido, Tesuque Village Market, Skyfire at Bishop’s Lodge, and a few minutes more to either the plaza or the Santa Fe Opera.
El Torreon, which means “The Tower,” is surrounded by both trees and water — very rare for Santa Fe area homes. Tesuque Creek is on the west, and the Acequia Madre de Tesuque, part of a 700-year-old network of irrigation ditches, is on the east. Large deciduous trees provide cool shade in the summer, sometimes for deer that wander down from the mountains. Extensive hiking/walking trails start just off White Boulder Road, and the Windsor Trail is accessible from Bishop’s Lodge Road. The Acequia runs in the spring and summer months depending on winter snowfall. Tesuque Creek is 20 ft from the patio, and it is one of the few in the entire area that runs all year. In the summer months it ranges from a soothing brook to an energetic torrent after a rainstorm in the mountains.
Since this home is part of a quiet community, we ask that it is not rented for parties or celebrations and that music stays at a reasonable indoor volume. In addition, this home is not pet friendly and we ask those with service animals to seek other accommodations due to allergies.

Beautiful home that was perfect for our group
Beautiful home that was perfect for our group! The door code they sent initially wasn’t the right one but they responded to messages and calls immediately and we were able to get inside without issue. Great access to trails and only 15 min from downtown Santa Fe – a lovely retreat!
My family and I had such a wonderful stay
My family and I had such a wonderful stay. The home was serene, luxurious, impeccably clean. We had great family time and conversations in the giant kitchen. The beds were very comfortable.
Pictures just didn’t do this place justice. It exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay there again. Couldn’t be happier!!!
