This home is a stunning example of traditional Pueblo Revival (aka Santa Fe) style, including high ceilings, vigas (wood beams), latias (round or split cedar ceilings), carved corbels, arched doorways, saltillo tile, kiva fireplaces, and signature massive walls making it warm in winter and cool in summer. El Torreon also features an enclosed courtyard with a fountain and fruit trees. It’s very private, yet only five minutes to some of the most popular area restaurants: El Nido, Tesuque Village Market, Skyfire at Bishop’s Lodge, and a few minutes more to either the plaza or the Santa Fe Opera.
El Torreon, which means “The Tower,” is surrounded by both trees and water — very rare for Santa Fe area homes. Tesuque Creek is on the west, and the Acequia Madre de Tesuque, part of a 700-year-old network of irrigation ditches, is on the east.
